IDEA contributes to work on AI in evaluation

On 14–15 September 2026, Białystok hosted the first meeting of the Working Group on the use of artificial intelligence in Cohesion Policy evaluation. IDEA Development Foundation is represented in the Group and contributes to its work.

The Working Group operates within the Steering Committee for the Evaluation of Cohesion Policy 2021–2027. The meeting brought together representatives of public administration, the evaluation community and evaluation contractors.

The Group aims to develop practical recommendations for the responsible, safe and effective use of AI in evaluation. Discussions addressed, among other issues, transparency in the use of AI tools, evaluation quality, data security and accountability for AI-assisted outputs. Participants also exchanged experiences on how AI is already being used by both contracting authorities and evaluation providers.
